The Dying Detective

Watson didn’t visit Holmes for a while, because he had a wife to take care of, but when he comes to see him, Mrs. Hudson the maid, tells him that Holmes has been sick for 3 days, and hasn’t eaten anything. When he tried to touch him, Holmes aggressively yelled at him that he had something contagious. Holmes said to Watson that he got it on a Chinese sailing trip. Watson tried to grab a Chinese tobacco box to see if that had something to do with him. But Holmes yelled at him not to open it. Watson tells Holmes that he needs a doctor, because it is serious, and Sherlock said Mr. Culverton Smith could help him and gave him his address. When Watson reached there, the housekeeper said that Mr. Smith had gone out to the theater. At the theater, Watson finds him, and asked to talk privately. Watson said that Sherlock Holmes was very sick by a disease he got in a Chinese sailing trip. Culverton Smith said he was going to see him after the show was over. When he came, Holmes demanded Watson to hide on the closet. When Holmes was arguing with Mr. Smith, a friend of Holmes came into the room with a fire arm. Holmes got his revolver as well, and asked Watson to come out. As soon as Smith saw Watson, he grabbed the tobacco box and tried to throw it at him, but the other person shot at Mr. Smith first. Sherlock Holmes said to Watson that Smith was doing human experiments, and that he did on his own nephew, and his nephew died. Holmes also said that he already knew the symptoms, so he acted like if he was sick to make him visit him
I would have liked that the story would be more adventurous, but I liked that at the end Holmes put an end to Mr. Culverton Smith, because he did human experimentation which is something really bad, because it could kill or change a person`s life forever. He even did it on his own nephew, and killed him. I liked that Sherlock Holmes faked being sick which is a brilliant idea to put an end to a mad doctor.
